Doctor, Engineer or Conman? How Bengaluru Man Mahesh Nayak Married 15 Women in Ten Years And Escaped – Details Inside

A 35-year-old Bengaluru man name’s Mahesh Nayak married 15 women in the last ten years allegedly to con them with jewellery, money and property. The accused pretended to be a doctor, engineer and used multiple phones to contact each of his wife.
He even hired actors to play his families at the weddings, staff at his clinic and other offices. Reportedly, accused have four children from these marriages.
What we know about bengaluru man Mahesh Nayak :
Mysuru police on Sunday, July 9 arrested Mahesh KB Nayak for allegedly cheating women he met on matrimonial sites by faking as a doctor, engineer and later absconded with their jewellery and money.
A report by The Quint claimed that the accused, Mahesh married women from different parts of Karnataka – Mysuru, Mandya, Bengaluru and Mangaluru and parts of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Modus Operandi:
Mahesh used to open make his profile on matrimonial sites like shaadi.com and sends requests to educated and well-off women. The police official informed that by talking nicely he used to lure victims to marry him.
The accused used to chat and share his photos pretending to be doctor and civil engineer. The police has revealed that women (victims) are mostly doctors, engineers and assistant professors.
Mahesh Nayak used to tell women that his parents have passed away and hire eight to nine people (for Rs. 3000 to Rs. 10,000) to act as his friend and relatives. That much people only used to attend wedding from his side.
How Mahesh Nayak escaped for ten years?
One of the officers (on the condition of anonymity) told The Quotes that women, who are victim, belongs to well-off families and fearing social shame, most of them never raised any complained against the accused.
However, the first woman – whom Mahesh got married – had filed a complaint against him in Bengaluru in 2013 but lack of evidences led to dead end.
The officer also said that Mahesh kb Nayak used to spend only three to four days after married and then leave on the pretext of some official work. He used to get hold of all the cash, gold and sometime property documents.
How he got arrested?
Police received a complaint from one of the victims, who recently got married with Mahesh. When he left her with Rs. 15 Lakh cash and gold, she approached police.
Although, Mahesh used to procure sim cards on fake names, but one of the sim cards was on his name. When the details were extensively investigated Mahesh was arrested from Karnataka’s Tumakuru.
What now?
A case has been lodged under section 420 (cheating and dishonestly including delivery of property), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 380 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code. As per police, Mahesh is in judicial custody.
