Maha Kumbh 2025: What is Yogi Adityanath’s plan for Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh Mela 2025?

Yogi Adityanath-led, Uttar Pradesh government, has provided over Rs. 521 crores for the highly-anticipated Maha Kumbh 2025 in the supplementary budget for the financial year 2022-23, presented in the state assembly on Monday. Following the allocation of funds, all the major projects proposed for Maha Kumbh will now be commencing and expedited.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a meeting last month and monitored the preparation of Maha Kumbh 2025 and saw the presentation of 870 projects worth Rs. 7800 crores prepared by Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand. The main projects of Maha Kumbh 2025 include the construction of a ropeway connecting Sangam with Arail and Jhunsi. The authorities have identified the Arail-Sangam-Ulta Qila route.

The Chief Minister has also approved the museum construction on the Curzon Bridge. Meanwhile, the widely popular Bharadwaj Ashram at Balson crossing will also experience a massive revamp as the Chief Minister has instructed to change it to a mythological ashram.

According to reports, the construction of five bridges and 83 roads will also be started with the amount proposed in the supplementary budget. Out of 83 roads, 27 will be constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD), while 56 will be by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA).

During the Maha Kumbh, the construction of pontoon bridges over the Ganga and Yamuna will also be carried out. Projects such as the Kumbh Kalash museum, the new powerhouse at Beli, and expansion work of the Medical College building will all start next year. World for various rail over bridges like the one at Begum Bazar and Salori could also commence.
