Khattar’s advisor and BJP MP perform ‘charan vandana’ to rape convict Ram Rahim

Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is out on a 40-day parole from Sunaria Jail in Haryana’s Rohtak district,
has triggered a controversy after his clip of cutting a giant cake with a sword has gone viral on social media.
Ram Rahim, serving a 20-year jail term for rape and murder, arrived at his ashram in Baghpat on Saturday – the premises which is gaining lot of attraction from his followers – as Baba Ram Rahim is holding online ‘satsang’ sessions which are being attended by several BJP functionaries from Haryana, including MPs and MLAs.
Meanwhile, Haryana CM ML Khattar’s political adviser Krishan Bedi and Rajya Sabha MP Krishan Lal Panwar, on January 23 (Monday) joined the Dera Chief’s satsang being telecast from his Baghpat ashram.
Reports have confirmed that the duo sought blessings from Ram Rahim with folded hands and bowed to him while Ram Rahim addressed them as ‘beta.’
Report published in Hindustan Times stated that the duo did ‘charan vandana’ of the Dera chief, who is serving multiple jail terms for raping two of his disciples in his ashram in Sirsa and killing journalist Ram Chander Chattrapati.
The attendance from Khattar’s political advisor and Rajya Sabha MP drew sharp reaction from DCW Chief Swati Maliwal, who suggested the Haryana Government not to wash away its hands.
“The Haryana Government cannot just wash its hands of this issue. It needs to clarify whether it will support a rapist or the women of this country,” DCW Chief tweeted.
Notably, Ram Rahim is out on parole for the third time in seven months.
