J&K police held de-addiction consultation to more than 300 people
The Jammu and Kashmir police organised a free medical camp cum drug de-addiction programme in collaboration with District Hospital Handwara under the Civic Action programme.
According to the information, a team of doctors from different specialists including psychiatry, offered consultation to more than 300 persons.

The main initiative of this medical camp was to facilitate people in general by providing access to medical check-up and medicines.
The local further informed the public were made aware about signs and symptoms of drug addiction so that they could identify early onset of addiction and appropriate intervention.
The attendees were also made aware of de-addiction facilities which could be life saving for severe addicts.
They were urged to spread awareness among society that any disease/addiction is treatable with the right medical attention and that addicts and their families should not shy away from seeking medical help to get rid of drug addiction.
