NCA yet to clear Jasprit Bumrah for national call-up, BCCI wants him to scale his intensity during IPL: Report

Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has become a hot topic in the Indian cricket circuit not for his on-field action, but instead for being away from the field for too long.
The Mumbai Indians lad, last played his international game, on September 25, 2022, against Australia in a T20I and since then attended recovery sessions at NCA, Bengaluru.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has reiterated many times that team management does not want to rush with Bumrah’s recovery due to which the Indian pacer has been given enough time to attain 100 percent recovery.
Also, the upcoming World Test Championship final and ODI World Cup, later this year, are two major tournaments where BCCI is anticipating Bumrah’s presence could provide an edge to Men in Blue.
Meanwhile, BCCI named a 15-member squad for the remaining two Tests against Australia, and was also not included for three ODIs. As per Cricbuzz report, Bumrah has not been given fitness clearance from National Cricket Academy to play international games.

The pace spearhead has reportedly played a couple of practice games at the Bengaluru facility of the BCCI but NCA managers have not issued any clearance to him for the national call-up.
Reportedly, team management wants Bumrah to scale up the intensity of his workload step by step and it remains to be in their fitness plans that Bumrah will play high-octane Indian Premier League before being part of upcoming India’s highly-competitive international itinerary, post-IPL.
There is no official confirmation from Mumbai India if the franchise will let the BCCI monitor Bumrah’s workload during IPL, but team management is likely to keep a close eye and extra attention will be paid on Bumrah’s workload during T20 league.
