Militants kill Kashmiri Pandit in Pulwama in broad-daylight

In yet another gruesome act of terror on the Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir, a security guard at a bank was shot dead by suspected militants in South Kashmir’s Pulwama, on Sunday morning.
Notably, this is first such attack on the minority group in the region since October.
According to reports, suspected militants opened fire at Sanjay Sharma in Achan village, Pulwama. Reportedly, Sharma was rushed to hospital after sustaining severe bullet injuries but succumbed to the fire shots.
Following an unfortunate incident, army, paramilitary forces and police cordoned off the area to try and arrest the suspected militants.
In October last year, a Kashmiri Pandit farmer Puran Krishna Bhat was gunned down by suspected militants outside his house in Chowdhary Gund village of Shopian. The killing sparked massive fear among the community members as ten families from the village left for Jammu soon after.
