IPL’s Brand Value Clocks New Heights; CSK Emerges As Most Valuable Franchise: Report



Banking on MS Dhoni’s unprecedented leadership skills, IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings has enjoyed great success in the T20 league over the years. With five titles already in the kit, the defending champions looks formidable against any other franchise in the Indian Premier League.

Fresh reports have confirmed that CSK has not just beaten other franchises in IPL 2023 to lift its fifth title, but in terms of brand value as well MS Dhoni side has left everyone way behind.  

CSK’s brand valuation:

As reported by Houlihan Lokey’s, CSK stands tall with the brand valuation of $212 million and experienced growth of 45.2% year-on-year. The report has also credited MS Dhoni for staggering upsurge in MS Doni’s brand valuation in recent times.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli-starrer Royal Challengers Bangalore is second to CSK in terms of brand valuation with %195 million. Mumbai Indians have slipped to third with a valuation of $190 million.

IPL’s valuation:

Meanwhile, reports also brought happy news for the brand IPL as it stated that IPL’s brand value has surged to $3.2 billion. As BCCI bagged a record IPL Media Rights deal of Rs. 48,390 Cr. ($6.2 billion), IPL’s brand value skyrocketed with 80% jump from $1.8 billion.

Also, the overall value of IPL business enterprise is also gone up by 80% to $8.5 billion.

Only behind NFL:

In terms of broadcasting fee, IPL is only behind NFL (National Football League of US) which charges $35.1 million. IPL’s per match fee is at $14.4 million.
