IPL 2023: Who is demanding ban on MS Dhoni-led CSK from IPL. Here’s details

Four-time IPL champion MS Dhoni-led CSK is regarded as one of the most successful franchises in the cash-rich league. The Chennai franchise has carved rich legacy behind them and enjoys massive fan following, wherever the team plays.
However, a fresh development has cast dark shadow over the existence of the franchise as one of the Tamil Nadu MLA has demanded a ban on MS Dhoni-led franchise.
While speaking in the Tamil Nadu assembly, SP Venkateshwaran requested the Tamil Nadu government to ban the Chennai Super Kings as they don’t have any players from the state.
The legislature further raised concerns about CSK branding themselves as a Tamil Nadu team and profiting from it without any local players.
“Even though there are talented players in Tamil Nadu, the Chennai Super Kings team has not selected even one player from the State. They are making a profit from out people by advertising as if they are a Tamil Nadu team,” said Mr. Venkateshwaran.
Responding to the demand from PMK MLA, Sports Minister Udhayanidi Stalin questioned how the AIADMK gave away passes to legislators to watch matches when Chennai didn’t host any of them in four years.
“This is the first time we are hosting matches in four years. Moreover, the IPL is managed by the BCCI. Jay Shah, son of your close friend Amit Shah, is the head of BCCI. Ask them for tickets. if we ask for tickets, they won’t listen to us. But they will listen to you,” said minister.
