IPL 2023: Shikhar Dhawan achieved this rare feat, joins Virat Kohli in elite club

Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings notched up thrilling win by 5-runs, over Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, in Guwahati. Kings’ skipper produced a match-defining knock on Wednesday as he smashed crucial 86 off 56 deliveries and took the side to a competitive total of 197.

While Dhawan led from the front, he also achieved a rare feat which earlier had only two cricketers in the list. The skipper was dropped on 50 and made most of the chance as he played an anchor role, ensuring enough runs on board.

Meanwhile, Dhawan joined elite club as he became the only third batter in IPL to complete 50 fifty-plus scores in the IPL. David Warner (60) and Virat Kohli (50) are the other modern-day greats to achieve the feat.

Talking about match, 28-year-old right arm fast medium Nathan Ellis was adjudged Player of the Match for his incredible four-fer in the 2^nd innings. For Royals, skipper Sanju Samson (42 off 25), Shimron Hetmyer (36 off 18) and Dhruv Jurel (32 off 15) made immense contribution in the  game.
