Manipur Viral Video: ‘Inhuman And Condemnable’ Tweets Smriti Irani; Assures Justice

Hours after a video showing two naked women being paraded and sexually assaulted in Manipur by a mob of men, Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani termed the incident ‘horrific and downright inhuman.’

Taking to Twitter, the minister said that she has spoken to Manipur’s Chief Minister N Biren Singh who told her that investigation is currently underway.

“The horrific video of sexual assault of 2 women emanating from Manipur is condemnable and downright inhuman. Spoke to CM @NBirenSingh ji who has informed me that investigation is currently underway & assured that no effort will be spared to bring perpetrators to justice,” she tweeted.

As per police the incident took place on May 4 and zero fire has been registered. However no arrested have been made till now in the case.

The incident has drawn sharp reaction on social media as many condemned the horrific act with the women.
