Indore girl lodges complaint for raping and forcing to convert against Muslim bf after watching The Kerala Story, 23-year old held

Indore: A 23-old man was arrested in Indore allegedly for raping his live-in partner and pressuring her to covert into Islamic culture and faith. 

Police has informed that woman lodged an FIR after having a heated argument with his partner after watching The Kerala Story. 

Man has been arrested under the provision of Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 2021, which prohibits conversion by cheating and forcing.

Khajrana police station in-charge Dinesh Verma informed that the girl was being subjected to physical abuse and was being pressurized by his partner to convert. 

In her complaint, woman alleged that her partner was mentally harassing her to covert to Islam. 

“The couple had a heated argument after watching The Kerala Story. Accused assaulted her and left her alone. However, she approached police on May 19, and lodged an FIR,” police said.

Police has further said that the accused is 12^th pass and currently unemployed, while the girl is highly educated and working in a private firm.
