Indian Footballer Jeakson Singh Wraps Himself With Meiti Flag After SAFF 2023 Triumph; Draws Attention Towards Manipur – WATCH

As India clinched the SAFF Championship 2023 final for the record 9th time in a row, its defensive midfielder Jeakson Singh was spotted donning a multi-color Meiti flag over his jersey while he was receiving winners medal on Tuesday.

Notably, Singh hails from Manipur’s Thoubal district took this opportunity to make a call for peace in his state.

While he was widely criticized for his act over internet, Singh issue a clarification soon after and said that his act was not to hurt anyone’s sentiments.

“By celebrating in the flag, I did not want to hurt the sentiments of anyone. I intended to bring notice to the issues that my home state, Manipur, is facing currently,” Jeakson Singh tweeted.
