Government Issues Travel Advisory For Students In Canada

New Delhi: Day after Canada issued travel advisory for it’s national in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government too notified it’s nationals and students in Canada against travelling in the places that have seen anti-India activities.
“In view of growing anti-India activities and politically condoned hate crimes and criminal violence in Canada, all India nationals there and those contemplating travel are urged to exercise utmmost caution. Recently, threats have particularly targeted Indian diplomats and sections of the Indian community who oppose the anti-India agenda,” read MEA’s statement.
Government of India advised it’s nationals in Canada to avoid travelling to regions and potential venues in Canada that have seen such incidents.
“Indian nationals and students from India in Canada must also register with the High Commission of India in Ottawa or Consulates General of India in Toronto and Vancouver through their respective websites, or the MADAD portal madad.gov.in. Registration would enable the High Commission and the Consulates General to better connect with the Indian citizens in Canada in the event of any emergency or untoward incident,” MEA concluded.
A day earlier, Canada too issued an advisory for it’s nationals in India, specifically against travelling in Jammu and Kashmir.

The tension between India and Canada are on rife since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made serious allegations and likned India with the killing of Khalistani terrorists Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June.
