World Cup 2023: India Crushes Pakistan with 7-Wicket Victory

Ahmedabad: In a thrilling encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Team India secured a commanding 7-wicket victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023.
The match was marked by a phenomenal performance from Indian bowlers that restricted Pakistan to a total of 191/10 in 42.5 overs in the 1st innings.
Notably, Indian bowlers Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja each contributed with two wickets, causing Pakistan’s batting order to crumble.
Pakistan had briefly appeared to be in a strong position, with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan forming an 82-run partnership for the third wicket.
However, a pivotal breakthrough by Mohammed Siraj, followed by quick wickets from Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya, left Pakistan reeling at 155/8.
Chasing a modest target of 192 runs, India’s openers got off to a flying start, with Shubman Gill and skipper Rohit Sharma aggressively accumulating boundaries.
Rohit Sharma went on to score 86 runs off 63 balls, and the partnership between him and Virat Kohli yielded 56 runs. After Kohli’s dismissal, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul comfortably sealed India’s victory.
This victory underscores India’s continued dominance over Pakistan in World Cup encounters, extending their flawless record with an eighth consecutive win.
