Indian skipper Rohit Sharma feels Virat Kohli batted superbly in the 1^st innings of the second Test match against West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, in Trinidad.

After Team India played frustrating draw in the second Test match of the bilateral against West Indies on Tuesday, July 24 and ended two-match series 1-0, Indian skipper was all praise for his long-time mate and modern-day legend.

While speaking of team’s performance in the series and second Test match of the series, Rohit Sharma specially mentioned Virat Kohli’s innings and said that Test format needs player like Virat Kohli.

“In Test matches, you need guys who stabilise the innings like what Virat Kohli did, he played superbly. You need the mixture of everything. We have depth and we have got variety,” Rohit said.

About Virat Kohli: Ind vs Wi

While batting in the 1^st innings, Kohli played a match-defining innings as he scored 121 off 206 deliveries and completed his 29^th Test ton and 76^th International cricket.  

This was also Kohli’s 500^th International match and he made it more special by notching up Test ton.
