The most anticipated Ind vs Pak World Cup game on October 5 is likely to get a new date.

As per fresh reports, security agencies have warned Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to tweak the date of the game as it is coinciding with first day of the Nvaratri – festival which is celebrated with mass gatherings at garba night across Gujarat.

We are mulling the option that we have and discussion will take soon. We have been told by the security agencies that a high-profile game like Ind vs Pak, for which thousands are traveling to Ahmedabad, should be avoided on the first day of Navratri,” The Indian Express quoted top-BCCI official.

Notably, Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium is set to host four most important games of the tournament.

England vs New Zealand (World Cup opener), Ind vs Pak, England vs Australia and the summit clash.

But, if BCCI makes any such amendment as reported, it will be logistical nightmare for the fans who have already booked hotel rooms in Ahmedabad for October 5.

BCCI meets on July 27 to decide on Ind vs Pak

Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has asked associations hosting World Cup games to attend a meeting in New Delhi on July 27.

The concerns from security agencies will be discussed and new dates might be finalized with mutual agreement of all the associate members.
