I’ll be killed in two weeks: Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf claims threat by senior police officer

Hours after Allahabad MP-MLA court acquitted Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf Ahmed from the 2006 Umesh Pal abduction case, he claimed that he was threatened with death by an officer.

While Ashraf was being shifted to Bareilly jail, he claimed that he would be taken out of jail in two weeks and would be killed.

“I have been threatened by an officer that I’ll be taken out of jail in two weeks and will be killed. Allegations levelled against me are fake. CM understands my pain as fake cases are levelled against me,” he said.

On Tuesday, an MP-MLA court in Prayagraj held gangster-turned politician Atiq Ahmed and two others guilty on Tuesday in the 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping case and sentenced them to rigorous imprisonment for life.
