If An Alliance Name Itself: Kejriwal On Reports of India To Be Renamed Bharat – WA TCH

As invitation to dinner at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on September 9 on the occasion of the G20 Summit referred President of India as ‘President of Bharat,’ Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken a sly dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government.

While speaking to the media, Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked the BJP if INDIA alliance changes it’s name to ‘Bharat’ alliance, will they (BJP) change the name ‘Bharat?’

“If an alliance of some parties become India, would they change the name of the country? The country belongs to 140 crore people, not to a party. Let’s assume if the India alliance renames itself as Bharat, would they rename Bharat as BJP then?… What’s this joke?… BJP is thinking that their vote count will decrease so they should change the name of Bharat,” Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said.

Why are you feeling ashamed, Jairam Ramesh? Our nati on has been called Bharat since ancient times and it is even mentioned in our constitution. They are trying to create misunderstanding for no reason,” he was quoted by The Indian Express.
