I Wasn’t Joking: Virat Kohli Reaffirms Ben Stokes As Most Competitive Bloke; Admits Australia ‘Too Good’

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was in complete awe of England’s England Test skipper Ben Stokes after latter played a phenomanl innings on Day 5 of the 2nd Ashes Test. While chasing 370 in its 2nd innings on Day 5, Ben Stokes smashed his 13th Test ton on June 02, Sunday to keep England’s chances alive in the run chase.

While chasing 370 in its second innings, England had an embarassing batting collpase at iconic Lord’s until Ben Duckett (83) and Ben Stokes (155) made vital contribution in the run chase. Though nothing worked for the host, skipper Ben Stokes stole the show with his gritty knock of 155 in 214 deliveries.

Among left impressed with an incredible performance by an Englishman, legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli took to Twitter to shower praise on his incredible knock. However, Kohli admited that Australia was ‘too good at the moment.’

I wasn’t joking about calling Ben Stokes the most competitive bloke I’ve played against. Innings of the highest quality but Australia is too good at the moment,” Kohli wrote.

Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood bagged three wickets each while Cameron Green contribution with a single breakthrough. Steve Smith was handed Player of the Match for his incredible knock of 110 in the 1st innings of the match.

Speaking of the match, 2nd Ashes has been clinched by the Australians after completing outplaying the host in the opener. Pat Cummins-led side won the game by the difference of 49-runs to take 2-0 lead in fuve match Ashes 2023.
