I am sure selectors are looking at him: Hardik Pandya backs Suryakumar Yadav for Test cricket

The dominance of Suryakumar Yadav in T20I was close to none in 2022. The batter stormed through ICC rankings and currently sits at the top of the chart. The 34-year-old smashed several records in the shortest format, and set a gold standard for everyone to come.
While Suryakumar Yadav was terrific in T20I, the Mumbaikar is yet to make a debut in red-ball cricket. The middle-order has not just admitted his desire to play Test cricket, but has also earned the backing from Ex-head coach Ravi Shastri.
Former Indian cricketer has time and again claimed that Suryakumar Yadav is an “all format player” and must get a chance to grace red-ball cricket. In a fresh development, India’s prolific all-rounder and likely to be T20I captain, Hardik Pandya has also vouched for Suryakumar in Test cricket.

“He has been fantastic. He is very important for India in all formats, in red ball cricket as well. He has the game to kind of change the momentum and the situation of the match. If he comes to bat I am sure the selectors and the captain are looking at him as well,” Hardik said on the eve of 1st T20I, between India and Sri Lanka at iconic Wankhede Stadium.
