No-Confidence Motion: HM Amit Shah Appeals Meitei And Kuki To Engage In Dialogue – WATCH

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday, 9 August appealed to the Meitei and Kuki community groups to engage in a dialogue in order to ensure peace in Manipur.

While speaking in the Lok Sabha during No-Trust motion against his own government on Manipur violence, Home Minister Amit said;

I appeal to both Meitei and Kuki communities to engage in a dialogue, violence is not a solution to any problem. I assure you that we will bring peace in the state. Politics should not be done on this issue.

Manipur violence is shameful: Amit Shah

Home Minister also admitted that the prevailing situation in Manipur and violence is not right, but politics over it is ‘shameful.’ He also reiterated that he was always ready for the discussion on the Manipur issue but Opposition never wanted any discussion.

The opposition doesn’t want me to speak but they can’t silence me. 130 cr people have selected us so they have to listen to us…During the past six years of our government, the need for curfew never rose: Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha,” he added.
