Chennai Supe Kings skipper MS Dhoni has recently opened up about his special camaraderie with his teammate Deepak Chahar. Their special bond in CSK camp is hidden to none and Dhoni’s recent comments will surely make that bromance more special.

Deepak Chahar is like a drug:

While addressing the gathering during the trailer launch of his first Tamil movie, Let’s Get Married, as a producer, Dhoni referred Deepak Chahar as a ‘drug.’

“Deepak Chahar is like a drug, if he is not there, you would think, where is he – if he is around, you would think, why he is here – good part is that he is maturing but he takes time and that is the problem, in my lifetime, I won’t see him matured (smiles),” Dhoni said.   

Notably, before joining Dhoni in CSK camp, Deepak played under his captaincy at the Rising Pune Supergiant’s in the 2016 and 2017 seasons of the IPL too.

Quite recently, Deepak Chahar revealed how CSK skipper backed him for the entire seaon when Stephen Fleming wanted to warm the benches for first few matches.

“When the auction happened in 2018, they (CSK) picked me for the team. During the discussions for the first match, Fleming wanted me to play after a few matches and wanted to include a senior play instead. Then Mahi bhai told him, ‘He has to play all 14 matches no matter what. Talk to me about the rest,” Chahar disclosed.

MS Dhoni-led CSK lifted its fifth IPL title by winning the 2023 season after beating Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium.
