Haryana Violence: Mosque In Gurugram Set Ablaze; 1 Person Killed - Details Inside

Haryana: A mosque in Gurugram was set on fire and a person was reportedly killed allegedly by a mob of 70-80 people in the wee hours on Tuesday.

As per DCP (East) Nitish Aggarwal, Anjuman Jama Masjid located in sector 57 was torched on Monday, last night.

We have identified some of the accused and action will be taken soon. The naib Imam and another man were badly injured and taken to the hospital. The imam reportedly had stab injuries,” DPC said.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Kala Ramachandran said that fire tenders were put to douse the fire and the attackers have identified by the police.

Raids were conducted throughout the night, several of the attackers have been rounded up. Security around places of worship have been tightened. Police and administration is holding meetings with prominent members of both communities to ensure peace,” he added.

The violence in Gurugram broke out after clashes in Nuh district during a procession by the VHP and Bajrang Dal, which left three people, including two home guards, dead.

Curfew was imposed in the district on Tuesday said Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij.
