Harsha Bhogle Explains Why Yuzvendra Chahal Is Not Included In Asia Cup Squad

The BCCI on Monday announced 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 with some surprising omission and inclusions.
While the likes of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma found their name in the sheet, talented Yuzvendra Chahal and top-seeded R Ashwin could not make the cut.
As many fans expressed their disappointment over the exclusion of the duo, renowned cricket commentator and expert Harsha Bhogle explained the reason behind.
Taking to X (former known as Twitter), Harsha Bhogle wrote, “Neither of the four quicks
picked, or the two wristies available, are good enough to bat at no 8 which means only one wrist spinner and two of the quicks can play. India have no choice but to play either Axar or Shardul everytime. Makes it very difficult to find room for Chahal”
