Halal Ban: Food Department Conducts Surprise Inspections In Kanpur

KANPUR: Following the recent ban on Halal-certified products in Uttar Pradesh, the Food Department conducted a surprise inspection at Z Square Mall in Kanpur on November 20 (Monday).
The inspection aimed to ensure compliance with the new regulation and prevent the sale and distribution of Halal-certified products within the state.
During the inspection, officials from the Food Department thoroughly examined various products at Z Square Mall to verify their Halal certification status. The administration has taken a proactive approach to enforcing the ban, conducting similar inspections across the state to ensure adherence to the new regulation.
Local authorities have urged both consumers and businesses to cooperate with the ongoing inspections and adhere to the ban on Halal-certified products.
The situation remains fluid, and the administration maintains a heightened state of vigilance to address any potential challenges in enforcing the ban.
In addition to the inspection at Z Square Mall, the FSDA team also conducted raids at Sahara Mall, scrutinizing food items such as drinks, meat, and dry fruits.
Further intensifying the enforcement efforts, eight cases have been registered against companies in the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow.
These actions underscore the state’s commitment to upholding the ban on Halal certification and ensuring that only products adhering to the new regulation are available for sale and consumption within Uttar Pradesh.
