Government Likely To Rename India as Bharat: Report
Fresh reports have confirmed that Government of India is mulling to rename India as Bharat during Parliament’s upcoming Special Session from September 18 to 22.
The Constitution of India currently refers to the country as ‘India, that is Bharat.’

PM Modi had earlier voiced his similar sentiments from the ramparts of the Red Fort on August 15, 2022.
He appealed citizens to take five pledges, one of which was freedom from every trace of slavery. Notably, the special aircraft that is used to ferry the President, Vice President and the Prime Minister has the name Bharat inscribed on it.
