Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Unveils World’s First 100% Ethanol Powered Car – Details Inside

The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday launched 100 per cent ethanol-fuelled variant of Toyota’s Innova car.

The launch of world’s first prototype of BS-6 (Stage II) Electrified Flex Fuel Vehicle took place in New Delhi.

What is Flex Fuel Technology?

Flex fuel technology allows the engine of a vehicle to utilize a higher blend of ethanol in petrol/gasoline (more than 20 percent). The country is currently aiming to achieve 20 percent ethanol blending by 2025.

The ethanol-powered Innova can be expected to be available in the Indian market in the coming years.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Union Minster wrote;

This innovative vehicle is based on the Innova Hycross and is ?????????? ?? ?????? ?? ?????’? ???????? ???????? ?????????, ??????? ?? ?? ??? ?????-???? ?? ? Speaking at the launch, Gadkari said, “India can reach 20% of Ethanol blending within three months as our ethanol manufacturers have that capacity. India can become the world’s number 1 producer of ethanol.

The minister further said it’s his dream to have all cars, two-wheelers, auto rickshaws running on 100 percent Ethanol.’
