FIFA 2022 || Lionel Messi bags Best Men’s player, Alexia Putellas Best women’s

The Argentinian skipper Lionel Messi is having a time of his life. It seems like he has got a Midas touch – ability to take triumph in every battle. 

After lifting the most prestigious title in the history of the game I.e., FIFA World Cup, the Paris Saint German forward has been adjudged Men’s Player at The Best FIFA Awards announced in Paris, on Sunday night.

Notably, Messi beat Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe to get the coveted prize. Messi led the Argentina from the front as the legendary striker scored seven goals in the marquee tournament and even scored a brace in the summit-clash against Kylian Mbappe-starrer France. Due to his incredible performance, Messi was adjudged with Golden Ball. 

Meanwhile, Spanish midfielder Alexia Putellas won the FIFA Best women’s Player award for a second year in a row. England’s Mary Earps has been named the best women’s goalkeeper.
