MUMBAI: Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh, known for her remarkable performances in Bollywood, is gearing up for her role in Anurag Basu’s upcoming movie ‘Metro In Dino,’ the sequel to the 2007 film ‘Life In a…Metro.’
During a recent interview with India Today, she shared her immense respect for the director and her excitement to be a part of the project.
“My reason for doing the film is only and only Anurag Basu,” she declared passionately.
“For him, I’ll do anything. Even if Daada (Anurag Basu) calls me for a one-second role, I’ll blindly do it. I love him that much. He had called me to narrate the story of ‘Metro In Dino,’ the network was so bad that I couldn’t hear and understand half of the things that he was saying, and I still ended up saying yes. I trust him that much. Like I said, I’ll do anything for him,” she told the daily publication.
Fatima’s collaboration with Anurag Basu isn’t new; they previously worked together on the film ‘Ludo,’ which was released on Netflix. Her faith in his vision and storytelling is evident in her commitment to ‘Metro In Dino.’
Stepping into a Mature Love Story
For Fatima, ‘Metro In Dino’ represents a new venture into the world of mature love stories, which is a departure from her previous roles.
She explained, “I’m doing a mature love story for the first time, and I’m happy doing so. But, I still want to explore different kinds of love stories. I want to do a crazy, pagalpan wala love story, like ‘Ae Dil Hain Mushkil,’ ‘Tamasha’ types. I want to do those kinds of love stories. It will be fun.”
With her versatility and eagerness to take on diverse roles, Fatima Sana Shaikh continues to be a dynamic force in the Bollywood film industry. Her upcoming film ‘Metro In Dino,’ directed by Anurag Basu and featuring a talented ensemble cast, is highly anticipated by fans and cinephiles alike.
