In Search Of Zimbabwe: Fans Troll Babar Azam as Pak Skipper Get Dismissed Cheaply Vs Ned

Hyderabad: Pakistan skipper and world’s no. 1 ODI batsman Babar Azam failed to delivery in the first World Cup 2023 game against Netherlands on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Babar could only contribute with just 5-runs after playing 18 deliveries. After Netherlands invited Pakistan to bat first, Babar Azam and Co. suffered early blows as Men in Green was soon reduced to 38-3 in just 9.1 overs.

Babar’s dismissal came in the 9^th over of the 1^st innings as Colin Ackermann bowled a quicker and shorter delivery onto the stumps.

The Pak skipper mistimed the pull, which went in air before Saqib Zulfiqar dived to complete a stunning catch at short mid-wicket.

With that dismissal, Pakistan was reduced to 34-2 in 8.3 overs. However, fans were left highly disappointed with Babar’s poor performance in the World Cup 2023 opener. Here’s how internet reacted to Babar’s failure in the game against Netherlands.
