Day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi returned to New Delhi after two-day visit to violence-hit Manipur, state’s chief minister N Biren Singh expressed his displeasure with the visit of the Congress leader.
“We can’t stop anyone. But the timing – it has been 40 days. Why did he not come earlier? He is Congress leader but in what capacity was he making the visit?” Manipur CM said.
During his two day in Manipur, Congress leader visited relief camps and met several stakeholders including civil rights representatives in the state.
“He is a Congress leader but in what capacity was he making the visit? I don’t think the timing was right. He seemed to have come with a political agenda. He came & then there was an incident in the market & BJP office was attacked. Did he come for the situation in the state or for political mileage? I don’t support the manner in which he came,” Manipur CM added.
