Delhi CM must take accountability instead of running away: Satish Upadhyay, Vice-chairman, NDMC

Delhi Chief Minister must take accountability and not run away from questions being pointed towards him and his MLAs, says Satish Upadhyay, vice-chairperson of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). The Bhartiya Janta Party on Wednesday alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, member of the New Delhi Municipal Corporation, walked out of the council meeting when he was asked the about the shocking ‘findings’ in the education sector.

BJP’s Kuljeet Chahal, member of the civic body raised several questions regarding the amount spent by the Delhi CM from the MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) funds for the welfare of the NDMC schools. In a video who has gone viral on social media, Chahal cited a paper (claiming to be RTI findings), and asked Delhi Chief Minister about the word done in the constituency. “An RTI query concludes that your MLA fund was not spent. The RTI says that no work has been done for school children in NDMC areas for the past seven years,” Mr. Chahal was heard saying in the video.

In telephonic conversation with The Quotes, former BJP chief and current vice-chairman of the NDMC, Mr. Satish Upadhyay said that Delhi Chief Minister’s action was completely unacceptable and he must show some sort of responsibility if questions are being asked on his governance.

“The way he walked away showed that he is running away from questions. He was taken aback that we brought the RTI findings Infront of him. He must answer for the sake of common public from whom he will ask for the votes. Education should be at priority for every government and if there is confusion over the same, public representatives must respond,” concluded Mr. Upadhyay.

The Quotes reached out to the AAP’s office but yet to get official response. We will update AAP’s official response in the copy once received.
