CWC 2023: Pakistan PM Forms High-Level Committee To Decide On Team’s Participation In World Cup In India


Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a high-level committee under the leadership of foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto to evaluate safety measures in India for 2023 ODI World Cup – startling from October 5 in Ahmedabad.

What we know?

As per reports, Pakistan government aims to explore difference aspects of Indo-Pak relations, government’s policy towards sports, and safety precautions in India for players, supports staff, officials, fans and media personnel.

Notably, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also the patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

PCB is yet to get clearance:

Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to get clearance from the Pakistan government to send its players to India. PCB has already conveyed ICC and BCCI that its decision is a subject to government’s clearance due to the political tension between both the countries.

Delegation to visit India:

The delegation is expected to visit India to inspect security measures India and will check all the venues were Pakistan is scheduled to play their games.

Ind vs Pak, in Ahmedabad:

While Pakistan will start its World Cup campaign on October 6 against the Qualifier 1, but its most awaited match against Pakistan will take place on October 15 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium.
