Completely baseless: MEA rubbish reports of India halting trade talks with UK

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has rubbished reported claiming that India has halted trade talks with UK for trade facilitations, called reports ‘completely baseless.’

As reported by India Today, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement soon after the UK-based The Times said that India has ‘disengaged’ from trade talks with Britain after latter failed to take stringent action against the Khalistani mob that attacked the Indian High Commissioner in London, last month.

 “We have seen reports stating that India has halted its trade deal with the UK, it is completely baseless,” MEA sources were quoted by India Today.

Report further revealed that next round of official negotiations is likely to take place from April 24 in London.
