Newly appointed BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar will join Rohit Sharma and boys in the Barbados during the second Test match between India and West Indies – starting from July 20.
But why..
Agarkar is likely to hold in-person discussion with the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid in regards with the squad for Ireland tour.
While Team India is scheduled to play three T20 Internationals against Ireland, and management is expecting Jasprit Bumrah to make a comeback in the bilateral.
Ajit Agarkar probably wants to discuss the same with the Indian skipper and head coach first, before announcing Bumrah’s comeback.
Who and who’s not making a comeback:
While Bumrah’s comeback in the tour is likely, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are yet to regain match-fitness.
Both the batters are unlikely to appear in Asia Cup 2023 and currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
