Cheetah bought from Namibia last year dies in Madhya Pradesh

One of the eight cheetahs that was relocated to India from Nambia died on Monday after developing a Kidney infection in January.

Identified as Sasha, she had shown signs of fatigue and weakness during a daily monitoring check and medical examination revealed that she was dehydrated and had kidney-related problems.

As per press release, Sasha’s blood test revealed that her creatinine levels were very high, which indicated an infection in the Kidney. Meanwhile, other cheetahs in the park are healthy.

Sasha was three years old and was released at Kuno on September 17 last year as part  of India’s cheetah reintroduction programme.
