CBFC Clears Akshay Kumar-Starrer OMG 2 With A-Certificate After Some Modification

Entertainment: The Central Board of Film Certificate has finally cleared Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG2 with A-certificate after makers of the film agreed for some modifications in the film.

As reported by Pinkvilla, OMG 2 starring Akhay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam has been certified ‘A – Adults Only’ with an approved run time of 2 hours and 36 minutes.

While the reports had earlier suggested the CBFC has suggested as many as 20 cuts and some reports even claimed that Akshay Kumar needs to change his character of Lord Shiva.

But fresh report have confirmed that OMG 2 is all set to hit theatres on August 11 as per the schedule. “After all the discussions, the film has been passed without any cuts.

There are some scene, dialogues and characters which have been modified by the makers after the discussion with the censor board members,” a source was quoted by the PinkVilla.

The report has further claimed that makers will not start an aggressive campaign and trailer will be out in two days.

OMG 2 for U/A certificate:

OMG 2 team was initially fighting for a U/A certificate; however the idea was dropped after the revising committee asked for a lot of cuts.

“The makers didn’t want to compromise with the sanctity of the film and hence they chose to go ahead with an adult only certificate. They will go ahead with an A certificate providing an uncompromised story-telling experience to the audience,” Pinkvilla quoted source close to the development.

About OMG 2:

The film is a sequel to the 2012 cult, Oh My God. While Akshay Kumar essayed the character of Lord Krishan in the 1^st chapter, sequel will bring him in the avatar of Lord Shiva.
