Indian off-spinners, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, unleashed beast mode against Australian batters to ensure a comprehensive win by an innings and 130-runs for Team India, on Day 3 of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.

Sensing an uphill task to face off-spin duo R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja on Day 3 of the series opener, Australian batters like Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Matt Renshaw and Peter Handscomb sought some help from few uncapped off-spinners in the morning.

While looking at Australia’s performance on Day 3 It seemed like nothing worked for the visitors, but still one Indian offie did impressed the Aussies. Identified as Gurudas Rauf, full-time medium pacer suffers with congenital amputation of his left-arm with the parts after elbow missing,  bowled off-spin for the Aussie batters.

The Indian Express report claimed that world’s number one Test batter, Marnus Labuschagne was highly impressed with Rauf’s bowling at Jamtha nets.

“Labuschagne was surprised as well as impressed. I have never seen a one-handed bowler bowling so well,’ he complimented me,” Raut told The Indian Express.

Besides Labuschagne, India’s young prodigy Ishan Kishan was also in awee of Raut’s skills and even suggested him to keep grinding. “You actually bowled very well. Just keep doing the hard work and ignore the outside noise. Keep bowling the way you have been bowling,” Raut said.

Raut further credited Vidarbha Cricket Association and its former president Advait Manohar for letting him bowl at nets. “I would also thank Ravi Chouhan sir for promoting disabled cricket in the country,” Raut added.

Notably, Raut was also a member of the national team that won the first ever T20 Physically Disability World Cricket Series in England in 2019. “I am sharing my experiences including the one I get by bowling these international cricketers with fellow differently-abled cricketers,” Raut concluded.
