BCCI to not release Indian players for Saudi Arabia T20 League: Report

A day after reports claimed that Saudi Arabian government is in talks with IPL owners for World’s Richest T20 League with the involvement of Indian players, a source-based report has claimed that BCCI will stick by its rule of not releasing any Indian player for overseas leagues.
Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has a long-standing norm of not allowing its players in any overseas league. Meanwhile, Cricbuzz has now reported that BCCI is not of the opinion to release its players for any overseas league.
“There is no question of releasing Indian players. In fact, the premise of the question itself is wrong. There is a policy and we will stick by it,” a BCCI source was quoted by Cricbuzz.
Earlier, The Age quoted ICC chairman Greg Barclay confirming that Saudi Arabian government is interested in investing in cricket.

“I f you look at other sports they have bene involved in, cricket is something I imagine would be attractive to them. Given their advance into sports more generally, cricket would work quote well for Saudi Arabia,” Mr. Barclay was quoted by The Age.
