Atiq Ahmed’s killers transferred to Pratapgath district jail for ‘administrative reasons’

The Uttar Pradesh police on Monday transferred Laveless Tiwari, Sunny Singh and Arun Maurya, the three shooters who allegedly killed gangster-turned politician Atiq Ahmed, on Saturday have been transferred from Prayagraj’s Naini central jail to Pratapgarh District jail.

According to reports, the move has been carried out on administrative grounds. The three shooters were sent to Naini jail after being sent to 14-day judicial custody on Sunday.

As per India Today report, all three accused have been kept separately from other prisoners and police officials are doing special monitoring of these three accused.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has set up a three-member judicial committee to prove Atiq Ahmed’s killing.

The panel will headed by retired Allahabad high court judge Arvind Kumar Tripathi, and will included retired judge BK Sonu and Ex-DGP Subesh Kumar Singh.
