Asia Cup: Pakistan Names Playing XI For Super 4 Game Vs India

Colombo: On the eve of Ind vs Pak clash on Sunday, Pakistan named their Playing XI for their Asia Cup 2023 and as expected made no change in the squad.

Babar Azam’s men retained their XI from their seven-wicket win over Shakib-Al Hasan’s Bangladesh a couple days ago at the Gadaffi stadium in Lahore.

While Shadad Khan’s form is a bit of concern for Men in Green, the focus will be on the top-order. Fakhar Zaman has also struggled in the competition. Meanwhile, Babar Azam is the top-run getter for Pakistan in the continental tournament with one hundred to his name.

Pakistan skipper has scored 168-runs in three innings. Iftikhar Ahmed is the second run-getter from the official host as he has 109-runs in 3 innings.

The centre of attraction is likely to be Pakistan’s quality pace attack, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah will be another two heavy weights.

Interestingly, Haris Rauf is the leading wicket-taker with 9-wickets in 3 innings. Naseem Shah (7) and Shaheen Afridi (7) are also among the top five wicket takers in the squad. Team India is yet to announced their squad for the match.
