Asia Cup 2023: Broadcasters unhappy with BCCI vs PCB over hosting of Asia Cup

The lucrative broadcasting rights between the broadcasters and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) might be in jeopardy if the deadlock over the hosting of Asia Cup 2023, between India and Pakistan, is not resolved soon.
Fresh reports have hinted that broadcasters are not pleased with ongoing tussle between two cricketing heavyweights in South Asia, and have conveyed the same to ACC representatives. In case India decides to pull itself out of the Asia Cup 2023, broadcasters are anticipating heavy loss.
“It is not possible to have the Asia Cup without Pakistan and India matches. This is the understanding on which the agreement is based,” source-based report claimed.
According to report published in Outlook India, ACC has promised two India vs Pakistan matches, before the final as it happened during the Asia Cup 2022 in UAE.
The source has said that during the last ACC executive board meeting, the Pakistan Cricket Board chief Najam Seth, had clarified that Pakistan wants to host the tournament and they are willing to give all security guarantees to the participating teams including India.
Earlier, reports hinted that ACCI is mulling to conduct Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan and UAE as India is likely to play all its matches in UAE. If India qualifies for the final, UAE will host the most important match of the tournament.
