Army truck attacked in Poonch was carrying fruits for Iftar, village to skip Eid celebration

Poonch: While the whole world is celebrating Eid-up-Fitra, on Saturday, villagers in Sangiote village in Poonch sector has decided to give it a skip as the army truck which was ambushed by terror attack, was carrying fruits for Iftar in the village. 

As per Indian Express report, soldiers attached with Rashtriya Rifles, was carrying fruits and other items for iftar gathering meant to be held, later in the evening in the village. 

Report further confirmed that the army truck was transporting materials from the Basooni headquarters of Rashtriya Rifles located on Balakote.  Also the vehicle collected additional items from Bhimber Gali area.

Sarpanch of the Sangiote panchayat, Mukhtiaz Khwn told Indian Express that village will not celebrate Eid as five of the soldiers were martyred. 

As soon as we got the information about terror attack from social media groups, sadness and sorrow prevailed in the village,” he said.
