AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj lashes out at Union Sports Minister over wrestlers vs WFI Cheif issue
New Delhi: Day after prominent wrestlers like Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and others sat-on dharna in Jantar Mantar raising incompetence in investigation against sexual allegations on WFI president Brij Bhushan Singh, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday lashed out at Union Sports Minister.
“By now, Brij Bhushan Singh should have been in jail. Such serious allegations have been levelled against him, but even an FIR has not been registered in this case,” Saurabh Bharadwaj said.
The senior AAP leader further claimed that the Union government has failed to even provide safe place to wrestlers to play, and then there are such predators who set their eyes on their bodies.
“What could be more shameful than this,” he added. Notably, India’s top wrestlers returned to Jantar Mantar on Sunday with a fresh complaint, months after accusing WFI Chief, and other trainer, of sexually exploiting women wrestlers.
Wrestlers called off their protest in January after assurance from the Centre, but back at protest site due to ‘lack of investigation in the case.’
