Rs. 200 Cut On LPG Cylinders: Date, Beneficiaries, Expense And More

Government of India on Tuesday, August 29, announced crucial Rs. 200 cut on LPG Cylinder price following the Union Cabinet meeting in New Delhi.

What are the other benefits govt. has announced?

The beneficiaries of the central government’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), an additionally subsidy of Rs. 200 has been approved.

Free gas connection will be provided to 75 Lakh women under the Ujjwala scheme.

These women will also get the gas burner, first cooking gas cylinder and pipe at no charge.

How much it will cost the government?

The Union Minister Anurag Thakur confirmed that government will bear the cost of Rs, 7,680 crore in the current financial year ending March 31, 2024.

PTI has reported that Ujjwala beneficiaries are only 9.6 crore while 31 crore uses domestic cooking gas in the country.
